Troy Darnell Scott Sr., also known as “Nana”, was born on October 11th, 1960, to his loving parents, Sam and Viola Nellum. Darnell grew up in Lonoke, Arkansas, and was the youngest of sixteen children. He departed this life at the age of 65 on October 11th, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
He was baptized at Brown Street Church of Christ February 23rd, 1984.
Darnell proudly became a certified law enforcement officer for the City of Lonoke on December 28th, 1984. He served the City of Lonoke as a police officer, later holding the position of Assistant Chief of police, and eventually serving as Acting Chief of Police. He went on to work at UAMS as a law enforcement officer, where he remained until his retirement from the force and went on to have other job roles. He was affiliated with the Masonic order and cherished the fellowship it represented. He was very proud to be a Scott. He loved his family and friends so much. He enjoyed listening to the blues, visiting family and playing spades. He loved when his nieces and nephews would visit him and bring him food. He loved when his friends and nephews would stop by and bring him his favorite beverage!
He leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love and memories to be cherished by his wife of forty years, Karen Scott; his children, Troy “TJ” Scott Jr. of Lonoke, Kayla Webb (Darryl) of North Little Rock, and Kassidi Lewis (Broderick) of Magnolia; his grandchildren, Serenity Martin, Kylon Lewis and Khloe Webb; brothers, Finnie Harris (Sandra) of Little Rock and Sam Scott of Clarksville, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, whom he loved deeply.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Freddie Harris, Jack Harris, Louis Harris, John Harris, Annie Harris, Betsy Harris, Nathaniel Scott, Will Scott, Mary Scott, Mattie Scott, James Scott, Christine Scott, and Charles Scott.
