Thurman Alexander was born in Eudora, Arkansas to Christopher Columbus Alexander and Amanda McGhee Alexander on November 30, 1943. Accepting Christ at an early age in life, Thurman later dedicated himself and united with the Hunter United Methodist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he served faithfully until he experienced health issues.
He relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin 1957, where he graduated from North Division High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he faithfully served for four years. He united in marriage to Florine Malloy Alexander, and the two shared over 60 years of marital bliss. Through this union, the world was blessed with 4 beautiful children, one of whom preceded him in death, Leonard Malloy.
In 1973, he obtained his commercial driver's license for professional truck driving, later attending college at MATC in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he obtained an associate's degree in mechanical engineering. Thurman was a very hard worker and had several career endeavors throughout his employment history, which included 2 years television broadcasting. In 1978, Thurman moved his family to Little Rock, Arkansas, where he began a career at Purolator Courier Corporation for 3 years, and for over 25 years, he held 2 full-time jobs with Little Rock Veterans Affairs and Target Warehouse, where he retired from both on November 30, 2007.
Thurman was a proud member of the Little Rock Corvette Club, who enjoyed community service and assisting wherever the need arose.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Florine Alexander; daughters, Karen Alexander, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Erica Alexander, Dallas, Texas; son, Thurman Alexander, II, Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Betty Alexander and Arlene Rupert, both of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; god-daughter, Nichele Thompson, Boston, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Jonathan, Christopher, Bri'leigh and Bri'niah, as well as a host of family and friends.
