T. Royal Lee, Jr, 74, of Little Rock, Arkansas, transitioned out of this life on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas with his family by his bedside. He was born November 2, 1951, in McGehee, Arkansas, the eldest son to T. Royal Lee, Sr. and Rosie Mae Givens Lee. He was preceded in death by his father, T. Royal Lee, Sr., brother, Ronnie Lee, Sr., and a nephew, Ronnie Lee, Jr.
T. Roy confessed a belief in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was a believer in the word of God which gave him tremendous comfort during his illness. He found strength in the gospel and maintained a personal devotion that was steady, humble, and sincere.
T. Royal (aka T. Roy or T. to those who knew him best) lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He shared a close bond with his mother and sisters, Patricia, and Linda, who stood by him through every chapter of life, and with his father and brother Ronnie still their passing.
T. Roy was known for his quick mind, deep curiosity, informed wit, and quiet kindness. He grew up in a home where everyone learned to work hard and take care of family, which shaped his character, values, and pursuits throughout his life. From a young age, he was a diligent worker, faithfully delivering newspapers and mowing yards to earn money.
T. Roy grew up in Tillar, Arkansas, where he attended B.C. Prewitt Elementary and Tillar High Schools. He excelled and graduated as valedictorian of his class in 1969. He loved sports, especially playing basketball and baseball in high school. Being a tenacious student, he went on to study at Arkansas Electronic Technical Institute in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he graduated in1971. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and AT&T for more than 45 years. After retiring from AT&T, he worked for the Little Rock School District for more than 10 years and worked a second job as a real estate agent for about 10 years. He was also an expert electrician, self-taught carpenter and mechanic, repairing anything from a clock to a car.
T. Roy was united in holy matrimony with Daisy Johnson on April 9, 1978. Their union produced one son, creating a blended family with a total of five children. His legacy of love, honor, strength, and deep devotion will continue to live on and shared through his wife, Daisy Lee of Little Rock, AR; mother, Rosie Givens Lee of Reed, AR; two daughters, Tammi Walker (Kenneth) of Little Rock, AR and Tamala Lee of Frisco, TX; two sons, Roosevelt (Tonia) Williams and Terrance (Tiffani) Lee of Little Rock, AR; a nephew, who he raised as his own, Lorenzo (Jordan) Lewis of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Arthonia “Patricia” Johnson of Fairview Heights, IL and Linda (Charlie) Branch of Dermott, AR; one sister-in-law, Mamie Lee of Reed, AR; ten grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews who adored him and many cousins and friends who loved and respected him.
Through his journey of seventy-four (74) years, T. Roy touched many lives with his compassion, generosity, wisdom, humor, and an unwavering spirit of perseverance. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the love he gave so freely and the light he brought to the lives around him.
