Robert “Big Bob” Wallace, beloved father, minister, and former football standout, peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord on March 4, 2026. A proud fullback at Horace Mann High School, he was known as one of the finest to come through the program. He continued his football career at the University of Oklahoma and was scouted by several NFL teams, including the New York Giants.
For five decades, Robert was a dedicated member of St. Mark Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as a minister and superintendent of Sunday School.
Born on August 22, 1940, in Eudora, Arkansas, Robert was the son of the late Lucius Wallace Sr. and Annie Mae Wallace. He grew up alongside three siblings: Lucius Wallace Jr., Richard “Jimmy” Wallace, and Jennifer WallaceLowe. His brothers preceded him in death. Robert accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at age 32.
After college, he began his career with Rock Island Railroad, where he worked for many years before joining the Little Rock Pulaski County School System as a facilities engineer, a role he held for over two decades until retirement. During this time, he earned his ministry license and joyfully embraced the call to preach the gospel.
Robert loved spending time with family, watching football, enjoying home-cooked southern meals, and sharing jokes with those he loved. He was an avid dominoes and spades player—competitive to the end—and expected his spades partner to know exactly how many “books” they held.
Though he will be deeply missed, heaven has welcomed a faithful servant who has made his ultimate touchdown and received the trophy of eternal life in Christ.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Pamela Denise Wallace of Sterling, VA; his sister, Jennifer Wallace Lowe of Little Rock, AR; niece Kesha Hall (Jeremy) of Little Rock, AR; Consuela Wallace of Los Angeles, CA; great-niece Liyah Hall; great-nephew Aden Hill; bonus daughter Shanta Baro (Moussa) all of Little Rock, AR; and a host of wonderful neighbors, and cherished friends.
