Robert Lee Colbert was born on May 20, 1938 to the late George N. and Mamie Walker Colbert. He graduated from McRae High School in Prescott Arkansas in 1957.
Robert was married to Billie Jean White for 55 years prior to her passing, May 15, 2017.
He accepted Christ at an early age. He later joined Metropolitan Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he served faithfully as deacon for many years.
Robert has two sons Robert Conrad & Robert Lee Jr.
Robert worked for the State of Arkansas for many years before his retirement.
He was an accomplished poet and a published author of several books. You would see many of published poems in Hallmark cards years ago. He loved to sing and his specialty was playing the harmonica.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife Billie Jean Colbert, parents George and Mamie Colbert, Grandparents Alvin and Luella Walker, three brothers, Harvey N. Colbert, Bernell G. Colbert and William H. Colbert, and two sisters, Ora Belle Green and Rosie Maloney, and a daughter.
He leaves to cherish his life and legacy, sons Robert Conrad (Dionne) of Little Rock, Robert Jr (Sarah) of San Antonio, TX, sister Georgia Faye Donald, Omaha, NE, brother, John (Georgette) Colbert, Omaha, NE, Brother-in-law, E.C. Maloney, Sister-in-laws, Mary Jean Colbert, Clara Colbert, Sonia Colbert, four grandchildren, Cameron, Caelon, Devin and Aaliyah, one great grandson Jace, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
