Ricky Lynn Johnson, Sr.

Ricky Lynn Johnson Sr. was born November 26th, 1961, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late Sam Hughes and Doris Johnson. He received Christ at an early age.

Ricky graduated from Hall High School in 1981 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He began his collegiate experience with a full football scholarship to Northeastern Oklahoma College and later transferred to UCA to further his education.

Ricky was an award-winning salesman in the automotive industry. He started at Otasco, then Twin City Motors, and ended his successful 30-year career at Landers. He then went on to work as a security officer at his alma mater, Hall High, and Philander Smith College. His work in this capacity brought him great joy as he was able to pour into young people along the way. Ricky made one last pivot to Delta Plastic, where he retired after 8 years due to his illness.

He became a faithful member of the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in 2001 under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. Robert J. Jenkins.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Hughes and Doris Johnson, and his two brothers, Gregory Johnson and Tony Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his beautiful memories his loving wife of 23 years, Carla Johnson; three sons, Ricky Johnson Jr. (Christina), Marcus Johnson, and Kevin Thornton (Shelly); three daughters, Brittany Greene (Xavier), Brandi Johnson, and baby girl Camille Olivia Johnson; nine grandchildren, newest addition Enali Dream, Kevin Jr., Koi, Seven, Emerson, Emory, Xay, Lauren, and Taylor; two brothers, Carlton Johnson and Keith Johnson; two sisters, Sue Settes and Mary McSwing; two aunts, Pearlie Colding and Alene Williams; and a host of nieces and nephews and relatives.
