Otis James Shavers

Otis James Shavers was born on August 16, 1970, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Veronica Stewart and Odis Shavers. On July 19, 2026, he transitioned from this earthly life into eternal rest.Otis received his education in the North Little Rock School District and graduated from Ole Main High School in 1988. Two years later, he answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army Reserve. He was also a devoted member of Keystone Lodge #2 F. &A.M. and King Hiram Lodge #7 F.&A.M.

where he faithfully served as an officer and proudly attained the degree of a 32° Mason. Since 2016, he had been a loyal and respected member of TRU BLU Nation, where he formed lasting friendships and brotherhood.In 2010, Otis turned his passion for cooking into Boaz Catering, a business that became known for serving families, churches, celebrations, and community events throughout Arkansas and beyond. To Otis, cooking was never just about preparing food; it was his way of showing love. An exceptional chef, he found genuine joy in watching others enjoy a meal he had prepared. It was not uncommon for him to cook enough for family, friends, neighbors, or even someone who simply happened to stop by. If you were hungry, Otis made sure you ate.His generosity knew no bounds. Otis was the kind of man who would give his very last to ensure someone else's needs were met. Whether through a warm meal, a helping hand, or words of encouragement, he demonstrated a servant's heart and loved people sincerely and without reservation. His kindness left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.Anyone who knew Otis also knew one undeniable fact...he was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. His loyalty to "America's Team" was unmatched and proudly displayed throughout his home. Win or lose, he wore his team colors with pride and never missed an opportunity to let everyone know where his allegiance stood.Above all, Otis treasured his family. He embraced the roles of father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend with love and devotion. His greatest accomplishments were not measured by titles or achievements, but by the countless lives he touched through his generosity, his laughter, his cooking, and his unwavering love.Otis was preceded in death by his father, Odis Shavers; his brother, Julian Shavers; his paternal grandparents, Laura Thomas ,Odis Franklin Shavers,and Clara Shavers and his maternal grandparents, Barbara Jean and George Wilson ,and Vernon Ray Shack Sr.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory his beloved daughters, Gabrielle Conyears, Monique Shavers, Diamond Shavers, Ablessing Shavers and McKenizie Shavers; his cherished grandchildren, Toni Hughes and Canaan Arnold; his loving mother, Veronica Stewart; his siblings, Dr. Michael L. Shackleford, Sr. (Shawna), Mr. Tony "T.P." Pearson, Sr., Crystal Selsley-Bullick (Lisa), Tonya D. Shavers, LaShone Releford (Messia), Shunda Shavers and LaKessa Shavers; his Special Niece, Veronica Shackleford; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and countless dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we rejoice in knowing that Otis lived a life marked by generosity, compassion, laughter, and unconditional love. His legacy will continue to live on in every life he touched, every meal that brought people together, and every act of kindness inspired by his example
