A Celebration of Life
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Romans 10:9)
Notie Mae Fields was born on August 10, 1941, in Parkdale, Arkansas, to Frank and Mary Johnson.
Notie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She attended Union Baptist Church in Parkdale, Arkansas, until she moved to Little Rock, Arkansas. She was a humble and faithful servant of the Lord at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church. She served as the President of the Usher Board, the President of the Mother Board, member of the choir and volunteered during vacation Bible school until her health declined.
Notie worked at the Shirt Factory in Hamburg, Arkansas, until she moved to Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1980. In Little Rock, she retired from Hillcrest Cleaners, where she worked for over 20 years.
Notie Mae loved serving and worshipping the Lord at Mercy Seat Baptist Church, where she also met her husband, Mr. J.B. Fields. Notie was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star since the early 1980s. She loved cooking, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends. Notie had a wonderful and kind heart. She would do anything she could to help her family, friends, and even strangers. To know Notie was to witness the true love of Christ. She was always there to give a helping hand, food to eat, clothes to wear, or words of encouragement when needed. Although she is not here physically, her love and legacy will live forever.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Johnson; husband, J.B. Fields; daughter, Toni Robinson; two sons, Ernest and Robert Morris; daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Morris; granddaughter, Nicole Morris; sisters, Lillie Mae Carter and Katie Mae Bryant; and brothers, Jessie Shoulder, Johnny Smith, Amos Johnson, John Henry Johnson, and Frank Johnson Jr.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories, her brother, Emmanuel Johnson; her children, Charil Morris of Little Rock, AR, Ruthie Morris of Palmetto, FL, Inez Morris of Little Rock, AR, Donnell Morris of Sherwood, AR, Deborah Morris of Little Rock, AR, and stepdaughter, Joyce Ann (Kent) Smith Conley of Little Rock, AR. Her twenty grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
