Mattie Ruth Jackson

Mattie Ruth Jackson, age 73, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025. She was born on March 25, 1952, and throughout her life, she was known for her warmth, kindness, and sense of humor.

She retired from the State of Arkansas after a dedicated career of service, where she built lasting friendships. In her retirement, she continued to nurture her lifelong passions of reading and writing, often sharing her reflections, stories, and encouragement with those around her.

She will be remembered for her sharp mind, gentle spirit, and her candid encouragement of others. Her family and friends will miss her deeply but find comfort in the legacy of love and wisdom she leaves behind.

She is survived by her sisters, Cora Duncan of Little Rock, Arkansas and Peggy Cane of Dallas, Texas; brother, Kenneth (Sandie) Cane of North Carolina, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, William T. Cane and Ruthie Mae Williams, and siblings, Arthur Brown, Doris Pearson, Gladys Brown, William Earl Cane, and Dr. Calvin Brown.
