Loretha Ward-Williams

Loretha Ward-Williams was born on July 7,1953 to Robert Lee and Rosa Lee Ward in Little Rock, Arkansas.

She graduated from Horace Mann High School. Her love of dancing led her to become a member of the Majorette Cheerleader Team. She went on to work for Baptist Memorial Hospital in North Little Rock as a Unit Medical Coordinator for 20 plus years.

Loretha professed her faith in Christ at a young age. She was a dedicated member at Greater Second Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor David Featherstone.

To her family, she was a woman of God who showed strong faith and inner strength. She cared for her family and others with a generous and serving heart. Loretha was always ready to encourage anyone with her heart-felt prayers and timely wisdom which was uplifting and inspiring. Her life consistently pointed others to Christ with her gentle yet resilient spirit and selfless compassion for those in need. She not only loved with actions but through her food at “LO’s Kitchen”. Her signature dishes were her chicken and dumplings and her “Honeybun Cinnamon Cake”. One bite and you can feel the love that came from her “Heart”. Loretha believed you were never too old to dream and to live your dream! She not only feed the physical body of people, but she was also spiritual with her words of wisdom and witnessing of Jesus Christ Our Lord.

Loretha departed this life on August 14,2026. She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Emeka Emmanuel Ezeanioma, her four brothers: James Ward, Robert Ward, Theoplis Ward and Mikal Akbar.

She leaves to cherish in loving memories her daughter, Angela Ward; Grandchildren: Antonio Ward, Cameron Jones and Rayniika Jones; Great-grandchildren: Carter Jones, Caidan Jones and Nayloni Leavy; Siblings: Ricky Ward, Kenneth Ward, Deborah (Clyde) Aaron, Beverly Ward, Donna Ward and Diana Ward; Special cousins: Beata Lovelace and Arlene Gillam as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
