Lee Ernest Washington

September 10, 1941 — April 28, 2026

Little Rock

Mr. Lee Ernest Washington was born September 10, 1941, to the late Henry Washington and Bertha Jones in Kerr, AR. He grew up in the family home with three brothers and three sisters.

He was united in holy matrimony to Cola V. Chambers on August 6th, 1971. To this union, one child was born in 1973.

Father Washington accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized at ACTS church in Conway, AR pastored by Suffragan Bishop Frank H. Stewart, where he was a member.

Father Washington was a devoted worker, spending 36 years at Green Tree Nursey before partially retiring and working another 10 years at Home Depot. He was passionate about landscaping design and loved sharing his knowledge with anyone that asked. He could look at a blank area and come up with an incredible design like an artist. Father Washington was the original ChatGPT as you could show him a picture of a plant, and he could give you an answer on the spot.

Father Washington was a strong man who loved his family. A devoted brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend, he was loved by all those who were fortunate to encounter him. His quiet presence was felt in a room, and he had a smile and laugh that could fill up a room.

Father Washington is preceded in death by his loving wife, Cola Chambers-Washington, and parents, Henry and Bertha Washington. His brothers, Henry L. Washington and Eugene Washington and sisters, Grace Washington and Emma Washington (Brown), also preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory a son, Lee Jr. (La Tina), a granddaughter, India; two grandsons, Joshua and Joseph; one brother, Melvin Washington, one sister, Paulette Washington, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
