Lakeshia Shantel Curry, 50, of Little Rock, Arkansas, transitioned on August 28, 2025.
She was born on July 10, 1975, to Lois Curry and the late Robert Lee Curry. From an early age, Lakeshia excelled in school as a straight-A student and enjoyed sports, including basketball, volleyball, and track during her middle school years.
Lakeshia later attended Central High School in Little Rock. She professed her hope in Christ and attended God Cares We Care House of Prayer, where she found strength and encouragement in her faith.
She went on to build a long-standing career in healthcare, serving as a supervisor at St. Vincent Hospital. Lakeshia was known for her strong work ethic, her love for providing for her family, and the pride she took in her accomplishments.
Outside of work, Lakeshia enjoyed cooking, sports, and spending time with her family, moments that brought her the greatest joy. She was admired as a caring listener and for the thoughtful advice she often shared with others.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Lois Curry; three children, Sean Jackson, Maurice Wadlington, and Ashanti Sprouse; three siblings, Bobbie Curry, Yolanda Barton, and Renita Nowden; along with a host of family and friends who will remember her with love.
Lakeshia will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her. Rest in love, beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend.
