Kelvin Lamar Hines was born on September 11, 1962 to Dorothy Akins and Mitchell Hines in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by grandparents John & Darlene Adams and Daniel and Laura Hines. He was also proceeded in death by his brother, Timothy Hines.

He transitioned to be with the Lord on Friday, August 22, 2026. He grew up in Galloway, Arkansas with his grandparents and attended St. Mark Baptist Church when the late Reverend Elgie Murdock was Pastor. He also attended Greater New Bethel under the leadership of his father, Elder Mitchell Hines and he attended church with his mother Dorothy Akins at The Church of Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Inc. He graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1982 where he won many trophies as a track athlete. He worked at Ingle Fence in North Little Rock for many years. He loved detailing cars and periodically worked with his Dad and brother’s (Terry and Wes) at “Hines Auto & Detail.” He loved his family and his children. As a youth himself, he spent many hours on the Galloway basketball court competing with his cousins who affectionally referred to him as “Oops.”

Kelvin’s memory will be cherished by his wife Lelia Hines of North Little Rock, Arkansas, his parents; Dorothy Akins and Mitchell (Linda) Hines; brothers; John Rockins, Jr, Terry (Sharon) Hines, Wesley Hines, Moses Crawford, and  Dolondon Mack, sisters; Demetria (Reggie) Gooden, Linda Hines, Kenyotta Eackles, Sandra Eackles, Tameka (Joe) Parker and Tamara Hines, his children; Michael Jarrett, Timothy Jarrett, Kelvin Hubbard, Leah Hines, Korbin Hines, and Blaine Hines, eight grandchildren; RJ Romo, Kyra Romo, Nevaeh Jarrett, Timothy Jarrett, Jr., Chris Jarrett, Jasmine Jarrett, Lavenia Jarrett, Ahmad Douglas, and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
