J.C. Taylor, Sr., age 81, passed away on July 17, 2026, following a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 23, 1944, in Little Rock, AR, to parents Girtha Taylor Humphrey and Henry Humphrey.

In 1973, he met the love of his life, Dorothy Walker, and the two married in 1975. Together they raised wonderful children and created a beautiful family that has given life to several generations.

J.C. was employed at Arctic Ice Company for many years. He later was employed at Standard Cold Storage Company from which he retired after 35 years.

J.C. loved the Lord and was a faithful, lifelong member of Grace Temple A.M.E. Zion Church (formerly Coleman Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church). He served joyfully as an usher and a member of the Board of Stewards. He loved and was devoted to his large family, always enjoying a gathering and spending many years traveling around the country to their family reunions. He had a great sense of humor and could always be counted on to get a laugh out of everyone. He was kind and always willing to lend a helping hand whenever needed. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

J.C. is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Bobbie Davis, Edna Turner, and Henry Humphrey, Jr. J.C. leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Dorothy; daughters, Inga Taylor of Silverdale, WA, Cynthia Ingram (Roderick) of College Station, AR, Gabrielle Pitts (Albert) and Pamela Taylor of Little Rock, AR; son, J.C. Taylor, Jr. (Mechele); sisters, Willie M. Delyles of Little Rock, AR, and Alice S. Hood (David) of Mountain Home, California; 13 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and dear friends.
