Frank Chidera Okoye
Frank Chidera Okoye made his earthly arrival on March 10, 1984, to the late Chief Godwin Okoye and Lolo Edith Okoye in Aba, Abia State, Nigeria. He is the fifth of six children.
Frank confessed his life to Christ at an early age and was totally committed to serving the kingdom of God, winning souls and sharing the love of Jesus with anyone he met. His favorite scripture was “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.
He was a member of Christ Embassy under Pastor Philips with Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, DSc, DD as head Pastor, President & CEO. There he served on the prison ministry and outreach ministry.
Frank met Chara in 2014 and a love like no other blossomed between the two. After much talking and consideration, Frank made the decision to move to Little Rock, Arkansas to be with the love of his life. They were united in marriage on August 3, 2018, and shared five beautiful years together before his departure to his heavenly home.
After moving to Arkansas, Frank joined First Assembly of God - North Little Rock under Pastor Rod Loy where his wife was already a member and together, they attended the Creative Living Connections Class. He quickly began to pick up where he left off jumping into servitude, becoming a member of the church choir and was even cast in many different background roles for the church Christmas program in 2018. He loved serving with the Hero’s Luncheon, Christmas Lane, and other serving opportunities up until the pandemic in 2020. But that didn’t stop Frank, he continued to follow and learn the gospel by watching First Assembly of God - NLR and Christ Embassy’s online worship services.
Frank was a hard worker and loved to work because it gave him pleasure to provide for his family and also share the love of Christ. In Nigeria, he worked as a nurse, businessman and an emcee and host for many events big and small. In Arkansas, he would work for Jones and Sons, Inc., FedEx and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).
There was not a stranger he didn’t meet and share the love of God. He had an infectious smile and laughter that could brighten your heart and make your day even better. He was a kind and caring person and always carried a gentle demeanor about himself. He made you feel comfortable and you knew you could be yourself in his presence. He loved to travel, sing, dance, swim, act in plays and movies, help others, and most importantly, preach and read the gospel. And he LOVED to eat! Some of his favorites were Jollof Rice, plantains, Chara’s tacos, spaghetti, assorted fruits and as he called it “Thanksgiving Food”, but he specifically loved Mama Woods dressing.
DEPARTING TO HEAVENLY HOME
He leaves to cherish an abundance of memories wife, Chara; mother, Edith; his loving in-laws Elmer and Patricia; sisters Stephanie, Sharon, and Christabel; brothers Samuel (Jennifer), and Prince, nieces Naomi and Chiamaka; nephew Rex; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, and church family in Nigeria and the United States. Frank will surely be missed by all.
