Florene Stout Harris

May 23, 1943 — September 12, 2025

North Little Rock

Florene S. Harris was born on May 23, 1943, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to the delight of Ulysus Stout and Adolph Williams, who preceded her in death.

Florene was affectionately known as “PeeWee” & “Flo” to family and friends. She started school at Scipio A. Jones High School, located in North Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1956. She was a part of the school's choir as well as inducted into the National Thespian Society. She graduated in 1962.

Florene was baptized at an early age and became a proud member of the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, where she served faithfully until her death.

Florene’s career spanned from factory worker to culinary, healthcare, and childcare. She was also a world-class seamstress and fashionista! She was an entrepreneur who turned her passion for beauty and fashion into a profitable side business. She created beautiful garments from everyday wear to formal and wedding wear and was a cosmetic consultant for the infamous Mary Kay. Florene loved music and singing. Her angelic voice was highly recognizable whether she was singing in the church choir or simply engaging in conversation. Her meek and sweet nature warmed the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Additionally, preceding her in death were her sisters, Anna Armstrong-Mitchell (Marvin), Jewell Dean Wesson, Priscilla Pinelton, and Equilla Miller; brother, George Scales; stepmother, Lola Williams, and grandchildren, Pamela A. Hicks and Tiffany Glenn.

She leaves to hold closely her beautiful memory her daughters, Jac’Quelyn Harris-Armstrong (Tony) and D’Juana P. Harris; grandchildren, Justin T. Dickerson, Whitney L. Dickerson, An’ToniQue J. Armstrong, and Tomari L. Armstrong, Anthony A. Armstrong Jr., Mason Stephens Jr.; many great-grandchildren; siblings, Norma Ann Coker (Marvin) and Roy Williams; brother-in-law, Dewayne Wesson, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, whom she loved deeply.
