Dorothy Neil Jackson, 92, was born on August 14, 1934, in Wynne, Arkansas to Willie Lee Mitchell and Allie Amelia Henley, both of whom preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Willie Lee Mitchell, Jr., and her daughter, Ruthie Honorable. She transitioned from time into eternity on September 10, 2026.
Along with her mother Allie Amelia Henley, Dorothy confessed her faith in Christ and put the Lord on in baptism on August 12, 1997, at the Dixie Church of Christ, under the leadership of Dr. Thomas N. Hardaway, Jr. She remained a committed and faithful member of the now Twin City Community Church of Christ until the Lord called her home.
Dorothy loved to fish and shop, and she did both as often as possible.
She leaves to cherish her memory nine children, including five daughters: Shirley Matthew, Carolyn Brown, Evelyn Gilbert, Dorothy Derico, and Yolanda Stewart (Waymon), and four sons: Frederick Jones, Thomas Jones, Ronnie Mitchell, and Jimmy Jackson; countless grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Dorothy’s favorite sayings were “Lord, help us all” and “You are never too old to learn”. We will forever cherish these in our hearts.
