Donnie Ray Mason, 62, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Donnie was born on November 9, 1962, to his loving parents Gertie Lee & Nathaniel Mason, Sr. He was welcomed into Heaven by his parents and his sisters, Brenda Kaye, Patricia, and Sandra Kaye Mason.
Donnie grew up in Fordyce, Arkansas with a love for baseball and basketball. You can ask anyone, he was a force to be reckoned with on that court. Donnie was a graduate of Fordyce High School, “the Class of 1981”, and started off his young adult life headed to the military. Donnie was known by most as “Kool-Aid”; in his spare time, he could be found somewhere wiping and cleaning his vehicles, shining his rims, ranting about sports , or being the ULTIMATE grill master! He absolutely loved his music. Donnie had no greater joy than his title of “Daddyyy” and “Paw-Paw”.
Donnie devoted his life to Christ and was a devoted member of St John Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend C. Dennis Edwards. Donnie was a servant to his community in any and every way that he could.
Donnie leaves to cherish his memory his devoted loving wife of 24 years, Shearl Mason; children, Anthony Vinson, Antoinette Vinson, LaPorsha M. Thompson, LaShunna M. Thompson, Isis R. Jones, Dameron Matlock, Norikia Burns (Lenelle), D’Mario Mason, Jasmine Martin, and son-in-law, Cortez Jackson, Jr.; grandchildren, Kelahni Vinson, Jayunna Vinson, Caleese Davis, Craig Davis, Grayson Thompson, Zuree, Gavarette Dameron Jr., Mahilhia, Ca'nlya, Ty’Nera, Jhase, Breylenn, London, and Paige; his siblings, Gloria Hampton (David), Nathaniel Mason Jr, Gertie Mae Mason, Randy Mason (Ferginger), and Tommie Edward Mason, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom he loved dearly.
