CAROLYN DEMETRICE MCFALLS REYNOLDS, the daughter of the late Theodore R. "Shorty" McFalls and Wyola Simpson McFalls. Carolyn left this earth to enjoy eternity with Jesus Christ on February 21, 2026. She was born April 21,1949, in Sevier County in the Oak Grove community of Lockesburg, AR.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Billy C. McFalls and two sisters, Bonnie Sue McFalls Barnett and Olivia “Kate” McFalls Watson.
Carolyn confessed her hope in Christ at an early age at New Zion of Oak Grove, AR where she served faithfully as an usher and choir member throughout of her youth and teen years until she left for college. She often returned home to do speaking engagements and speeches. She was active in the Baptist Congress and often did public speaking. She graduated from high school as the valedictorian of her class. She went on to further her education at Arkansas AM& N College (now UAPB). Carolyn completed her studies with a BS degree in Foreign Language and later returned to serve as an instructor, teaching French.
During her college years, she met a fellow Golden Lion from Mississippi Golden Lion from Mississippi who became her lifelong friend and companion. After their graduation in 1970, Carolyn moved to Kansas City, MO to be near her dear sister Bonnie but soon returned to Pine Bluff at his request. On July 14, 1970, she became the wife of Benjamin J. “BJ” Reynolds. Their union was blessed with two handsome sons, Terry and Michael.
After moving to Little Rock, Carolyn united with Mount Pleasant Baptist Church where she served in many areas during her time there (Youth Director, Gospel Choir member) Carolyn started her career with the AR Department of Human Services in Helen, AR later transferring to DHS in Little Rock. She briefly paused her career at DHS after receiving the Winthrop Rockefeller scholarship. She started law school, later graduate school, and started to work for The Centers for Youth and Families before returning to DHS in Staff Development. Carolyn retired after more than 30 years of dedicated service to help care for her aging mother.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband of more than 55 years, Benjamin “BJ” Reynolds; their two sons: Terry D. Reynolds of Little Rock, AR and Michael A. Reynolds, Sr(Daarina) of Maumelle, AR; four grandchildren: Jaylon, Avani, Janae and Michael Reynolds, Jr., her two brothers: Oliver B (Funzia) McFalls of Fayetteville, AR and Stevie W (Louesia) McFalls of Foreman, AR and two sisters-in-love: Mary Cason of Little Rock, AR and Josephine C. Lawrence of Dallas, TX, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her life is a testament of faith, service, education, and love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
