Carline Burns was born Little Rock, AR on October 20, 1961 to the late Charlie C Dortch and Erma Jean McPherson-Curenton. She departed this life on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 in Jacksonville, Arkansas. She attended Forest Heights Middle School in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Carline gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was baptized in Jesus Name at Greater Christ Temple Pentecostal church under the leadership of the late Honorable Bishop Leodis Warren. She later moved her membership to First Deliverance Temple in Lonoke, AR under the leadership of Suffragan Bishop E.L. Williams. She then moved her a membership to Bibleway Pentecostal Church under the leadership of Suffragan Bishop Lonnie Aaron and the on to First Pentecostal Church of Benton under the leadership Pastor Burrell Crabtree where she remained until her health could no longer allow her to attend.

Carline loved her children, but had a special love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren until they went into the kitchen looking for something to eat and she would yell at them saying “Get out of my kitchen, you ain’t that hungry”

Carline did not play about her family’s education. You could not play sick at her house on schools days and think you were going to get away with a fake sick day. She would make you regret that day.

She also loved listening to Lee Williams. Her favorite song was Sweep around your own front door, while you’re trying to sleep around mine” She was an adamant believer of that as well.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Charlie C Dortch, Tommy Curenton Sr and Erma McPherson Curenton, her brother Tommy Curenton Jr, her maternal grandparents, James and Emma McPherson, her paternal grandparents, Cleveland and Ethel Pugh Dortch

She leaves to cherish her loving memories her husband of 41 years, Willie Burns, 2 daughters Landa Burns, Tonya Burns, 1 son Willie Dortch, 9 sisters, Jerrie Reeves, Luticia Curenton, North Little Rock, AR, Shirley (Larry) Johnson, Glenda Curenton, Elizabeth Walker, Little Rock, AR, Marilyn (Irvin) Murray, Texas, Tonya Smith, Farrah Curenton, Little Rock, AR, Betty Thompson, Chicago, IL. 4 brothers: Terrance Curenton, Little Rock, AR, Marcus (Syreeta) Curenton, Alexander, AR, Clevon Dortch, Otis Lee Dortch, Galesburg, IL. 8 grandchildren: Markita Whitaker, James Jointer Jr, Jalon Jointer, Dakelon Lacefield, Kiley Lacefield, Keshawn Barnes, Willie Dortch, Nariyah Dortch and 3 great grandchildren: Tristan Whitaker, Serenity Jefferson, Kenneth Hudspeth and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relative and friends, as well as two special aunts: Ida Mae Phillips and Linda Jean Burns.
