Calvin Ray Carrick Sr., age 68, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away at his home on July 24, 2026. Born on April 30, 1958, in Little Rock, Calvin was the only child of Georgia Mae Carrick, who preceded him in death.

Calvin was a man defined by intelligence, discipline, and a sharp business‑minded approach to life. A proud United States Navy veteran, he carried the structure and seriousness of military service into everything he did. After graduating from Central High School, he earned his bachelor’s degree, further sharpening the keen mind he relied on throughout his life.

He was known for his no‑nonsense demeanor, stern when needed, standoffish by nature, and always clear about his expectations. Calvin valued order, logic, and self‑reliance, and he lived by those principles without apology.

One of Calvin’s greatest passions was collecting and restoring old‑school cars. He had a mechanic’s precision and a strategist’s patience, able to diagnose a problem quickly and fix it with skill. His workspace wasn’t a hobby, it was a workshop where he could think, build, and create on his own terms.

Calvin is survived by his partner Sheila Carrick. He is also survived by his three children: his daughter Ashley McKenzie, and his sons Calvin Ray Carrick II and Steven Calvin Carrick. He is further survived by four grandchildren, along with cousins and friends who will remember him in their own meaningful ways. Though he was a man of few words, his presence was steady, his standards unmistakable, and his love expressed through action rather than sentiment.

He will be remembered for his sharp mind, his strong will, and the strength he carried throughout his life.
