Betty Jean Shells was born to Henry McCoy and Annie Jefferson on December 18, 1936, in Geneva, Arkansas, the last of nine children. She peacefully transitioned from this earthly life to her heavenly reward on November 16, 2025.
At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined the Zion Wheel Baptist Church of College Station, Arkansas, where she remained a faithful member until her health failed not allowing her to attend regularly.
Betty enjoyed cooking large meals for her family and friends. She was an awesome baker and became known as the “The Cake Lady”. She also loved sewing and attending garage sales.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry McCoy and Annie Jefferson; 3 brothers, 5 sisters, grandson, Demetrius Clark, and granddaughter, Michelle Shells-Smith.
She leaves to mourn her daughters, Annette Hunter of Little Rock, AR, Martha Shells of Flower Mound, TX, and Lorraine Shells (John Pavy) of Bremerton, WA; 9 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
