Arthur Hilliard Jr (Joe) 81 transitioned peacefully to his heavenly home from his residence in Little Rock, Arkansas on January 1, 2026. Born September 24, 1944 in Scott, Arkansas to parents Arthur Hilliard and Carrie Jones Hilliard.
Arthur was a product of North Little Rock public school district graduating from Scipio A. Jones high School in 1962. He served his country during the Vietnam War Conflict in the United States Navy Armed Service from 1962-1968 serving on the USS Enterprise, the first Nuclear Warship Aircraft Carrier, with the last two years in the Naval Reserves. After His return from military duties Arthur attended Shorter College North Little Rock, Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock, Arkansas and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Arthur was employed with Little Rock School District part-time for over 35 years in the food service division as cashier. Meeting and encouraging many students along the way as well as staff and faculty through several school location.
He retired from North American Philips Lighting upon the company’s closing the Little Rock location. He found a second career as a security officer with his last employer being Baptist Health Medical Center Little Rock where he received numerous awards and recognitions for his exemplary service of eleven years before his retirement in 2011.
Arthur was a man with many interest and several hobbies but, his greatest achievement was his friendship to many; his smile, laughter and joy light up every room he entered
Arthur (Joe) is the proud father of two sons, Joseph B. Hilliard and Jarvis T. Hilliard (wife La Saundra). He was Grand Pawpaw to three grandsons Keary J. Hilliard, Karsten J. Hilliard, Jarvis T. Hilliard Jr. Two granddaughters, Jasmine B. Robinson and McKinley Ann Hilliard. He was Great grand Pawpaw to Zaiden B. Hilliard, Sebastian T. Robinson, Zavier J. Hilliard, Tahani M.Collins, and Kapri Hilliard who will treasure many lasting memories. Others left to treasure memories is his siblings Roscoe (Butch) Hilliard, Murry Hilliard (Toni), Loyce Ann Blair, Anthony Hilliard and many nephews, nieces, and cousins and friends.
Preceding him in death is his parents, Arthur Hilliard and Carrie Jones Hilliard, Grand Mothers, Mary Hall and Henrietta Hilliard. Grandson Keagan Bernard Hilliard, brother Toney L. Hilliard sister, Joyce Ann Nolan.
