Annie Carter
Annie Mae “Kit” Conner Carter was born to the late James E. Conner and Eliza Conner September 10th 1950 in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Annie departed to her heavenly home on Thursday August 3rd 2023 in Little Rock, Arkansas to where she lived over the past 30 years with her Husband Roy Lee Carter.
She accepted Christ in her early years at Lamb of Life Church of God In Christ in Rochester, NY. She later joined Redeem Church of God in Christ in Little Rock, Ar under the leadership Pastor Thurman until his passing. Annie was unstoppable when it came to the Lord. She was a faithful member.
Annie was a God-fearing hard-working woman during her lifetime. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, NY, Strong Memorial Hospital (U of R), Double Tree Hotel in Little Rock, Ar for many years. She then began working for the LRSD at Little Rock Central High School as a Child Nutrition until she retired. After her retirement, she enjoyed her life with her family but most of all going to garage sales with her dear friend Betty Alexander.
Annie is proceeded in death by her parents James E. Conner and Eliza Conner. Her siblings Henry Smith, Hattie Jones, Sarah Collier, Howard Conner, Ernest Conner, and her dear Twin Ida Mae Cato. Mrs. Annie Mae Conner Carter loved her family dearly.
She leaves to cherish her memories with her loving Husband Roy Lee Carter of 20 years to whom she loved dearly. Her One Son Joseph (Joann) Conner of Elmira, NY and three daughters Tanya Conner (Remy) Oharo of Albion, Ny ,Mary Tate (Chris) Campbell of Rochester, NY and Shonda Tate of Albion, NY. She also leaves her step children Roy Carter Jr, Patrick Carter, Cynthia Libbett from Rochester, NY and Darlene Holmes and Anna Carter from Forest City, Ar. Annie also leaves her memories with her four brothers James Conner Jr of (Sodus, NY) John Conner, Sidney Conner, and Leonard Conner all from Rochester, NY. She also left three loving sisters in her memory Sadie Redfield, Debra Walker, and “her baby sister” Willie Mural Conner all from Rochester, New York. Annie leaves a great great memory of 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
A visitation will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 10-11am with services beginning at 11:00am, Greater South Temple Church of God in Christ, 2523 S. Arch Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72206.
