Ada Jean Mason

Ada Mason, in her 91st season, made her transition on Monday, August 10, 2026. She was born on June 21, 1935, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Frank, Sr. and Gladys Camp.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Harold Mason, mother, Gladys Jones – Thomas, father, Frank Camp, Sr., brothers; Frank Camp, Jr., John Camp, William (Bill) Camp, and Sam Camp, sisters, Lela Camp – Hill, Lettie Camp – Gilmore, and sons; Garnett Mason and Sherman Mason.

Through the union of marriage, five children were born, three of which remain: Keith Mason (Lisa), LaTonya Page, and Sonya Phillips. Her life will be forever cherished in their memory.

Her spiritual foundation was laid at an early age at the Rice Memorial Baptist Church in Little Rock, where she accepted Christ and was baptized. As her journey with God continued, she became a member of the Saint Andrew A.M.E. Church in Little Rock, under the leadership of Reverend Thurston Lamb. She later became an active member of the Greater New Bibleway Church of God in Christ, where she served on the Mother’s Board, participated in the annual Miss Bibleway Pageant (and reigned for many years), and participated in the outreach ministry, all under the direction of the late, Elder Rochester Rodgers, Sr. She then became a member of the Point West Church of Christ, under the leadership of Brother Earnest Franklin, Sr. Her journey landed at the Saint Mark Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas, where she remained faithful in her latter years.

She lived a life rich in devotion to God and to her family as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was well known for baking and cooking skills, expanding those skills through the outreach cooking ministry. She kept a smile on her face and a positive outlook throughout her life’s journey!

Her impact on the lives of others has left a permanent imprint on all of those who reached out to her for encouragement. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as a host of other relatives and dear friends.
